A Data-Driven
Approach
An InBody scan is a body composition analysis that provides a personalized health report. The report focuses mostly on mass-related data points such as muscle mass, dry lean mass, and other critical information.
How it Works
-
Arrive at your assessment. Your instructor will greet you and explain how the scanner works. They will also help you register and create your InBody account.
-
Step on the scale and begin your assessment. You will stand on the scale and hold the handles. The scanner will send multiple electrical currents through your body and measure the resistance of different tissues in each segment of your body. (Don't worry, you don't feel a thing)
-
Get your results and review them with your instructor. The scanner will print out a detailed report of your body composition, including body fat mass, skeletal muscle mass, lean body mass, and percent body fat. Your instructor will go over your results with you and answer any questions you may have.
-
Track your goals with your InBody account. Your results will be automatically uploaded to your InBody account, where you can monitor your progress and set your goals. You can also access your account online or through the InBody app.
InBody assessment
Can help you determine the following:
-
If you’re drinking enough water or if you’re dehydrated
-
How healthy your cells are
-
Whether you’re losing or gaining muscle mass and fat
-
How many calories your body is burning at rest
-
Helps determine muscle balance and imbalance
-
Your body fat percentage
What is an InBody Scan?
Common frequently asked questions
01
What is an InBody assesment?
An InBody assessment is a quick and non-invasive way to measure your body composition, which is the proportion of muscle, fat, and water in your body. By taking an InBody assessment, you can get a detailed breakdown of your health and fitness status, as well as personalized recommendations to achieve your goals, such as losing fat, gaining muscle, reducing visceral fat, lowering BMI, determining muscle balance and imbalance, and preventing diseases. Our experienced staff will assist you throughout the process and provide you with the best guidance and support.

What data points will I see?
-
Weight: Your total body weight in pounds (lb).
-
Total Body Water (TBW): The amount of water in your body, divided into Intracellular Water (ICW) and Extracellular Water (ECW).
-
Dry Lean Mass (DLM): The weight of the protein and mineral content in your body, which reflects your muscle mass.
-
Body Fat Mass (BFM): The weight of the fat in your body, both surface level (subcutaneous) and internal (visceral).
-
Lean Body Mass (LBM): The sum of your ICW, ECW, and DLM, which is the weight of everything in your body except fat.
-
Percent Body Fat (PBF): The percentage of your weight that is fat, calculated by dividing BFM by weight.
-
InBody Score: A reflection of the overall evaluation of your body composition, based on a formula that compares weight, muscle mass, and body fat mass. The higher the score, the better your body composition.
-
Segmental Lean Analysis: A breakdown of your LBM in each segment of your body: right arm, left arm, trunk, right leg, and left leg. This can help you identify any muscle imbalances or asymmetries.
-
ECW/TBW Analysis: A measure of compartmental fluid distribution and shows, as a ratio, how much of your total body water is extracellular. This can help you detect any fluid imbalances or inflammation.
-
Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR): The minimum amount of calories your body needs to function at rest, based on your LBM. This can help you plan your diet and calorie intake.
-
Visceral Fat Level: A measure of the fat surrounding your internal organs, which can increase the risk of various diseases. This can help you monitor your health and prevent chronic conditions.
02
Is it just a scale?
No, the InBody scan is much more than just a scale. While it does measure your weight, it also provides a detailed breakdown of your body composition, which is the proportion of muscle, fat, and water in your body. By using advanced bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) technology, the InBody scan can measure the resistance of different tissues in each segment of your body, and calculate your body fat mass, skeletal muscle mass, lean body mass, and percent body fat. These measurements can help you understand your health and fitness status, and guide you to achieve your goals with personalized recommendations. The InBody scan is a quick, easy, and non-invasive way to get an in-depth look into your body.

When should I do another scan?
The frequency of your inbody assessments depends on your personal goals and the type of changes you are looking to make in your body composition. Generally, we recommend doing another scan every 4-6 months to monitor your progress and adjust your plan accordingly. However, you may want to do more frequent scans if you are:
-
Working out regularly. If you are following a fitness program, you may want to see how your exercise affects your muscle mass, body fat, and other measurements. Doing a scan every 4-8 weeks can help you track your results and optimize your workout routine.
-
Losing weight. If you are on a weight loss journey, you may want to see how your diet and lifestyle changes affect your body composition. Doing a scan every 4-8 weeks can help you measure your fat loss, muscle retention, and metabolic rate, and prevent any unwanted effects such as muscle loss or dehydration.
-
Gaining weight. If you are trying to gain weight, you may want to see how your nutrition and supplementation affect your body composition. Doing a scan every 4-8 weeks can help you measure your muscle gain, fat gain, and water balance, and prevent any unwanted effects such as excessive fat gain or fluid retention.
